Our First Day

Day 1: Since this momma was not completely prepared we did an easy transition back to school day!

Fayth-Lynn Listened to the ABC song and tried singing along with it. We will continue to work on that!

Alex listened to the story Horton Hatches An Egg while he drew a picture of what he listened too.

 Then he played a game with addition facts! He had to add the numbers and then click the shark with the correct number! With numbers 1-5 he did awesome right off the bat with +19. Then we tried out numbers 1-10 and it was a rough start with +2 but on his third game he was able to make all +20!!!!

He then did two math test on subtraction facts, one with 100% and the next with 90%! Then he played a game to see if he had enough money to buy things. I now know money is something we need to work on a bunch his scores were 3/10 both times he played!

Then we finished off with some spelling. He play a game called word builder and he did awesome! First game was untimed and he got 6/6 then he played two times games and first game he got 4/6 in 4:06 second game was 4/6 in 3:49!

I am so proud of my boy and so excited to start this journey with my babies!!!

TOMORROW IS FINALLY HERE!!!!!!!!!!

We are officially starting school tomorrow!

Alex has been begging for the last couple weeks to start school so we finally get to do it!!! I am excited to see my kids as the grow and learn and use those amazing brains I know they have!!!! Although I am scared of messing up but luckily my kids wont judge me if I do!

There are so many people doubting us in our journey but I am determined to prove those people wrong and rock out our family with our homeschool life!!!

A New School Year Has Arrived!!!

Ok so our school year last year did not go so well so my oldest went back to public school to finish out first grade, and my daughters preschool got put on hold another year as well!!!

So a new school year has started and here we are 3 days away from starting our home school adventure again. We are so excited for the next 3 days to go by so we can learn learn learn!!!

Alexander will be starting second grade!!! Wow this momma can not believe she has a second grader!!!
Fayth-Lynn will be starting kindergarten! & Maxymus will be learning as well but easy stuff for an almost 2 year old of course!

We will be using Easy Peasy All-In-One homeschooling with some supplemented curriculum as well!

A New School Year

Alrighty well last year homeschooling did not go as planned. With a baby and being pregnant and having some of the worst morning sickness ever and Alex's best friend moving back and them both begging to go to school together i decided to send him back to ps for one more year but now no more!!!!

We are back to homeschooling!!!! YAY can you say EXCITED!!!!!

We will officially be starting on September 1st but until then we will continue to "unschool". When we do start school we will be trying on Easy Peasy All-In-One Homeschooling we are excited and nervous all at the same time! Cant wait to see how this 1st year goes!!!!

M&M Math

Today was M&M math day! We took our M&M's and separated them by colors so it was easier to count them!

Then we separated them onto a graph so we could count them up!

 

 

 After they were graphed we practiced writing out how many there were!

 

 

Then of course at the end they got to enjoy they M&M's they counted!

It didn't take them long to make them disappear!

 

 

Alex also practiced his numbers counting to 100 by 1's, 2's, 5's, and 10's!

 

 

 

It's been a slow start!

So I know we haven't posted anymore about school since our very first day and we are so bummed about that. We have been off to a rough start and need to get our butts in gear! Please be patient as we get into a routine and get our learning rolling! We will post tomorrow about our science experiment we were a part of on Wednesday, we had so much fun and im sure you will enjoy reading it too!

Our Official First Day of School

So today we had lots of fun it was our first official day of school! We started out with what today is and singing the days of the week song that Alex learned in kindergarten! Then we had Journal time, 

Fayth-Lynn draws pictures for her journal time and Alex writes little stories! Today Alex wrote about loosing his first 2 teeth yesterday and how the tooth fairy brought him $5!

Next we drew a picture of ourselves! Fayth-Lynn drew herself, Alex, and Maxymus. Alex drew himself under a rainbow!

We then moved onto the next thing. Alex worked on some math problems and Fayth-lynn learned about the letter "A". She knows what the letter is and knows how to write it, 

When we were done with math and the letter "A", we got in the car and headed over to the library. The kids each borrowed 3 books and they each got to pick out a movie to watch when all their school work is done. When we got back home Fayth-Lynn wanted to sit down and read and write her "A"s. Alex spent a couple hours reading as well. They then spent some time playing outside with their friends and then came in and watched a movie that they borrowed from the library. All in all today was an amazing first day of homeschooling. We hope that you will enjoy following our journey with homeschooling, we know we are excited with what lies ahead of us!
